THOMAS, Circuit Judge: We confront the question of whether the Board of Immigration Appeals (“BIA”) may hold the adjudication of petitioner’s asylum application in abeyance pending the resolution of his parallel ■ extradition proceedings in federal district court. We conclude that the BIA may do so, and affirm the judgment of the district court, albeit on different grounds. <
