Madden requested a reduction of his sentence based on recent améndments' to the sentencing requirements in Mississippi Code Annotated section 41-29-139. The circuit court denied the motion. GREENLEE, J., FOR THE COURT: ¶ 1. Willie Smith Jr. appeals his conviction for being a felon in possession of a firearm. The sole issue he raises on appeal is whether the trial court erred in refusing a jury instruction placing the burden on the State to disprove Smith’s defense of necessity beyond a reasonable doubt. Finding no error, we affirm.
